OID (symbolic): COMTROL-ES8510-MIB::portMirrorDestinationPortRX

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2882.2.1.1.11.3.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: The RX destination port (sniffer port).

Destination port can be used to see all monitor port traffic. You can connect sniffer port to a LAN analysier or netxray. Set to 0 to clear the configuration. A destination port can not be the same as a source port.

This object can not be modified if portMirrorStatus is disable.

What is portMirrorDestinationPortRX?

This read-write integer (0-10) selects which port receives a copy of received traffic for port mirroring, i.e. the sniffer port for RX, and likewise cannot match a source port or be changed while portMirrorStatus is disabled. Admins use it to capture inbound traffic separately from the TX mirror for detailed troubleshooting. For example, an admin investigating malformed packets arriving at a server would set portMirrorDestinationPortRX to their analyzer's port to see exactly what's coming in.
