Description: Some of the rapid state transactions that are possible within MSTP are dependent upon whether the Port concerned can only be connected to exactly one other Bridge(ie., it is served by a point-to-point LAN segment), or can be connected to two or more Bridges(i.e., it is served by a shared medium LAN segment).
The adminPointToPointMAC allow the p2p status of the link to be manipulated adminitratively.
What is mstpPerPortInfoLinkType?
This read-only value reports the negotiated link type for this port under MSTP in more granular detail than plain point-to-point or shared, distinguishing whether the port is an internal region link or a boundary link speaking legacy STP, RSTP, or MSTP to the neighboring device. An admin uses these boundary-specific values to identify where the local MST region interfaces with equipment running an older spanning-tree protocol. For example, seeing p2p-bound-stp(1) reveals the device connected to this port is running legacy STP rather than MSTP, meaning this port is acting as a protocol migration boundary rather than an internal region link.
