This row-status value controls whether the IP configuration entry, covering address, mask, gateway, and DNS, currently staged is actually applied on the device. Because the switch supports only a single configuration entry, an admin must set this to active after changing any of the related IP fields for those changes to actually take effect. For example, after updating the switch's IP address and gateway settings to new values, the admin would still need to set this status to active before the switch starts using the new settings.
