Description: Max Respocse Time is meaningful only in Membership Query messages, and specifies the maximum allowed time before sending a responding report in seconds.
What is igmpQueryMaxResponseTime?
This read-write value, from 1 to 25 seconds, sets the maximum time hosts are given to respond to a Membership Query before the switch considers them no longer interested in that multicast group. An admin reduces this value to speed up detection of hosts that have silently left a group without sending an explicit Leave. For example, reducing this to 5 seconds speeds up how quickly the switch notices a set-top box has stopped watching an IPTV channel and stops forwarding that stream to its port.
