OID (symbolic): COMTROL-ES8510-MIB::faultSelection

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2882.2.1.1.10.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Select the type of fault event that triggers the relay. To config a fault relay, first select the founction this relay serves for, then configure the condition that triggers the relay in detail. At last, set the faultRelayEntryStatus to active(1) or nonActive(3) to enable or disable the setting on the relay.

What is faultSelection?

This read-write setting chooses which category of condition-digital input state, timed dry-output cycling, power failure, link failure, ping failure, or others-a fault relay monitors, and it must be paired with detailed condition settings and an active faultRelayEntryStatus to actually operate. An admin selects the condition type that matches whatever physical event the relay is meant to report. For example, setting faultSelection to pingFailure(5) configures the relay to physically trip if the switch loses the ability to reach a critical upstream gateway, immediately alerting facility staff wired into that relay's alarm circuit.
