This counter counts page faults satisfied by pulling a page back from the modified, not-yet-written-to-disk, page list. This indicates a process is re-referencing a page it recently modified before the system got around to writing it out, avoiding a disk read but still costing a fault. For example, a process rapidly reusing a data buffer it just wrote to would generate faults recorded here instead of in the slower disk-read counters.
