This is the page-statistics-group counterpart to the general I/O page-fault counter, again totaling page faults across all process working sets, refreshed on its own configurable schedule. Because it's gathered on its own schedule, an admin can use it as the headline indicator inside the dedicated Page statistics group when diagnosing memory contention. For example, if this counter's delta since the last recorded refresh time is unusually large, the admin knows a memory-intensive event occurred sometime during that specific gathering window.
