sTrapResendSeqNum

Module: COMTEK-VMS-NM-SYSMGR-MIB

OID (symbolic): COMTEK-VMS-NM-SYSMGR-MIB::sTrapResendSeqNum

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.597.4.3.3.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Sequence number of a trap message to be resent to the manager. Setting this variable to a trap sequence number causes the specified trap message to be resent. If the set-request contains a number that is not available (the number of items retained in the trap table is dependent on the value of sCfgTrapTblSize), an error indicator will be returned.

What is sTrapResendSeqNum?

This is a writable value that, when set to a specific trap sequence number, causes the subagent to resend that previously generated trap message to the management station. An administrator uses this to recover a trap that was missed or needs to be reprocessed, provided it is still retained in the internal trap table (sized by sCfgTrapTblSize). For example, if a management station missed a critical hardware error trap due to a network outage, the administrator could set sTrapResendSeqNum to that trap's sequence number to have it resent.
