sCfgDskOps

Module: COMTEK-VMS-NM-SYSMGR-MIB

OID (symbolic): COMTEK-VMS-NM-SYSMGR-MIB::sCfgDskOps

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.597.4.3.5.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The threshold at which excessive disk busy traps (sDskOpSec) begin to be sent. This value is expressed in terms of disk operations (reads and writes) per second. At expiration of each sCfgDskTimer interval, the number of disk operations during the intervening interval is computed. A trap is sent if the number of operations during that interval exceeds the this limit. A value of 0 disables disk busy traps. Different thresholds may be set on individual disks by specifying an OpSec limit in the critical disk file.

Configuration Variable: DskOps Set-requests: Take effect immediately

Changes to this value are written to the sCfgFile.

What is sCfgDskOps?

This is the disk operations-per-second threshold above which the subagent sends excessive disk busy traps, measured at each sCfgDskTimer interval. An administrator sets this value to define what level of read/write activity on a disk should be considered abnormally high for their environment. For example, setting sCfgDskOps to a value tuned for a particular disk's normal load would let the administrator get alerted only when that disk experiences unusual contention.
