sCfgCritDisksOnly

Module: COMTEK-VMS-NM-SYSMGR-MIB

OID (symbolic): COMTEK-VMS-NM-SYSMGR-MIB::sCfgCritDisksOnly

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.597.4.3.5.60

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Flag which may be used to instruct NM*SysMgr to gather disk statistics either on all available disks or only on disks listed in the Critical Disk file (COMTEK$SYSMGR_CRITDSK). If this flag is set to TRUE(1), the disk table (sDskTbl) will only contain data on disks listed in the Critical Disk file. If this flag is set to FALSE(2), the disk table (sDskTbl) will contain data on all available disks.

Configuration Variable: CritDisksOnly Set-requests: Take effect on next timer expiration

Changes to this value are written to the sCfgFile.

What is sCfgCritDisksOnly?

This is a writable flag that, when set to true, restricts the disk statistics table (sDskTbl) to only the disks explicitly listed in the Critical Disk file, rather than all available disks. An administrator sets this to reduce disk monitoring overhead and noise to just the handful of disks they've deemed critical, as defined via sCfgCritDsk. For example, enabling sCfgCritDisksOnly on a system with dozens of disks but only a few critical database volumes would keep the disk table focused on just those important disks.
