Description: The number of octets received by the UART driver.

What is uartInOctets?

This counter tallies the total number of bytes received by the IN3000's UART (serial port) driver from whatever is connected to the console or serial management port. An admin uses this to confirm serial console traffic is actually reaching the device's UART hardware during a console troubleshooting session. A uartInOctets count that stays at zero despite an admin typing commands at a connected terminal would point to a cabling or baud-rate mismatch on the serial link.
