OID (symbolic): COMPEX-IN3000::hmiTrap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.426.1.13.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: The number of HMI traps sent.

What is hmiTrap?

This counter tallies the total number of HMI trap notifications the IN3000 has sent, which are its proprietary equivalent of unsolicited event notifications to a management station. An admin uses a rising trap count to gauge how many noteworthy events, such as link changes, the device has been reporting on its own initiative. An unexpectedly high hmiTrap count during a period the admin thought was quiet would prompt a check of what events the device has actually been generating.
