Description: This variable is used to run a diagnostic test on the Non-Volitile RAM.
To run the test this variable must be set to runTest(3). Setting this to any other value will result in an error.
What is flashTest?
This read-write enumerated value lets an admin run a diagnostic self-test on the IN3000's non-volatile RAM (flash) by setting it to runTest(3); reading it back afterward returns testPass(1) or testFailed(2), and any other value written is rejected as an error. An admin would run this test if invalidOpcode interrupts or configuration corruption suggested the firmware storage itself might be failing. Setting flashTest to runTest(3) and getting back testFailed(2) would confirm to an admin that the device's non-volatile storage is defective and needs attention before further firmware updates.
