What is arpInReqs?
This counter tallies the total number of ARP requests the IN3000 has received from other devices on the network asking it to resolve an IP-to-MAC mapping. An admin trends this to gauge how much ARP chatter the device is being subjected to, which rises with the number of hosts on its local segment. A sudden spike in arpInReqs would lead an admin to suspect either a new burst of hosts joining the segment or an ARP scanning tool being run against the network.
