arpCacheSize

Module: COMPEX-IN3000

OID (symbolic): COMPEX-IN3000::arpCacheSize

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.426.1.11.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The maximum number of ARP cache entries.

Changing this value will take place on next reboot.

What is arpCacheSize?

This read-write integer, constrained to a range of 1 to 200, sets the maximum number of entries the IN3000's ARP cache can hold, with changes taking effect only after the next reboot. An admin increases this value on a segment with many attached hosts to avoid premature eviction of active ARP entries. If arpPutReqs and arpDeadEntries both run high on a busy segment, an admin would raise arpCacheSize and reboot the device to accommodate more concurrent hosts.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.426.1.11.8
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> COMPEX-IN3000::arpCacheSize

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.426.1.11.8.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> COMPEX-IN3000::arpCacheSize.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.426.1.11.8.1 i <value>
