It lets an admin see how bandwidth is actually distributed across the different priority classes inside one shaping pipe, rather than only the pipe-wide total. For example, an admin can check clvPipePrecBps for the voice-priority precedence to confirm real-time traffic is getting its expected share of the pipe's bandwidth.
