rndSysId

Module: CISCOSB-rndMng

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-rndMng::rndSysId

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Identification of an switch001 device. The device type for each integer clarifies the sysObjectID in MIB - II.

What is rndSysId?

This read-only INTEGER identifies the specific device type of a switch, with each integer value clarifying which sysObjectID from MIB-II the device corresponds to. An admin or asset-management tool reads this to programmatically determine the exact model of a Cisco Small Business switch without decoding the full sysObjectID OID string. For example, a particular rndSysId value maps directly to a specific switch model in Cisco's product line lookup table.
