rlIpxFftUnknownAddrMsgUsed
Module: CISCOSB-rlFft
OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-rlFft::rlIpxFftUnknownAddrMsgUsed
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.47.2.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: Specifies whether the 3SW uses the unknown address message.
What is rlIpxFftUnknownAddrMsgUsed?
This read-only enumerated INTEGER (used/unused) reports whether the switch (referred to as the '3SW' in the description) sends an unknown-address message when it can't resolve an IPX destination. This matters operationally because if unused, unresolved IPX destinations may fail silently rather than triggering any notification, changing how an admin would detect such failures. For example, when IPX hosts intermittently can't reach a destination, knowing this OID reports unused tells the admin not to expect any device-generated alert and to rely on other troubleshooting methods instead.
