Module: CISCOSB-Tuning

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-Tuning::rsMaxIpmv4RoutesAfterReset

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.29.8.28.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Future Maximal number of IPv4 routers ((*,G) and (S,G)) supported by the IPv4 Multicast Hardware Forwarding Table.

What is rsMaxIpmv4RoutesAfterReset?

This is a read-write INTEGER letting an administrator set a new maximum for IPv4 (*,G) and (S,G) multicast routes in hardware in the IPv4 Multicast Hardware Forwarding Table that only takes effect after the device's next reset, since the live table cannot be resized while running. Changing it lets an admin plan capacity ahead of a scheduled reboot rather than being limited to the currently active ceiling. For example, an admin adding more IPTV channels beyond that ceiling, and seeing them fall back to software forwarding, raises this after-reset value to 512.
