Description: Specifies the global authentication method for SSH client. SSH client will apply this authentication method upon connecting to a remote server, if no specific authentication method has been defined for this operation.
What is rlSshClientAuthenticationMethod?
This read-write field sets the default authentication method, public-key RSA, public-key DSA, or password, the device uses when acting as an SSH client, unless a specific method is given for an individual operation. Admins care because it determines whether scheduled backup jobs from this device rely on key-based or password authentication by default. For example, an admin sets this to public-key-rsa so nightly SCP configuration backups authenticate to the backup server using the device's RSA client key rather than a stored password.
