Module: CISCOSB-PORT-STATISTICS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-PORT-STATISTICS-MIB::rlPortStatPOECumulativeEnergySaved

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.223.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: POE cumulative energy savings per system due to time-range feature in Watt*Hour units

What is rlPortStatPOECumulativeEnergySaved?

This read-only Counter64, measured in Watt-hours, reports the total cumulative energy the system has saved across all ports specifically because of the PoE time-range feature, which powers PoE devices off during scheduled periods. An admin evaluating the ROI of scheduling PoE devices to power down outside business hours would monitor this counter to quantify actual energy savings over time. For example, after enabling a nightly PoE time-range schedule for IP phones, the admin checks this counter weekly to report accumulating Watt-hour savings to a facilities or sustainability team.

Create custom SNMP monitor using the CISCOSB-PORT-STATISTICS-MIB::rlPortStatPOECumulativeEnergySaved OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any Cisco Small Business (SG/SF series) managed switch from a single console.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Select a Cisco Small Business (SG/SF series) managed switch as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type rlPortStatPOECumulativeEnergySaved into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. It reports pOE cumulative energy savings per system due to time-range feature in Watt*Hour units. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter64-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the counter increases sharply between polls relative to its normal baseline (in Watt*Hour), since an unexpected spike often reflects a real change in traffic or activity. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
