rlPortStatClearPortEventsCategory

Module: CISCOSB-PORT-STATISTICS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-PORT-STATISTICS-MIB::rlPortStatClearPortEventsCategory

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.223.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Scalar for determining the type of counters to be cleared when invoking rlPortStatClearPortEvents action MIB

What is rlPortStatClearPortEventsCategory?

This read-write INTEGER selects which category of counters, MAC counters or POE counters, will be cleared the next time the rlPortStatClearPortEvents action object is invoked. An admin needs to set this first because it determines the scope of the clear operation, letting them wipe only POE event history without touching MAC-layer error and traffic event history, or vice versa. For example, to reset POE-related event logs after replacing a power supply, the admin sets this to poeCounters(2) before writing to rlPortStatClearPortEvents so MAC statistics remain untouched.
