rlPolicyServiceClassTentativePriority

Module: CISCOSB-POLICY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-POLICY-MIB::rlPolicyServiceClassTentativePriority

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.59.6.4.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: If non-zero, this service class will operate as a priority service class with the specified priority value. This object can not be set in Diffserv mode (i.e. rlDiffservModeEnabled = enabled), in which case rlServiceClassPhbType should be used instead. It can't be set when rlBoundedPriorityQueueSupport = notSupported as well.

What is rlPolicyServiceClassTentativePriority?

This read-write integer, when non-zero, makes this tentative service class operate as a strict-priority queue at that value, but it cannot be set in Diffserv mode (where PhbType is used instead) or on platforms lacking bounded-priority-queue support. It's how an admin designates a queue to be serviced ahead of others outside of DiffServ mode. For example, setting priority to 1 on the voice service class makes the switch always drain that queue first whenever it isn't empty.
