rlPolicyMeteringClassFailMeterPointer

Module: CISCOSB-POLICY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-POLICY-MIB::rlPolicyMeteringClassFailMeterPointer

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.59.4.2.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Specifies an index in the rlPolicyMeterClassTable. This is the meter that is to be used if the packet is out-of-profile relative to the current meter. If non-Diffserv mode, this field is not used. If the current meter is AlwaysConform, this field is not used.

What is rlPolicyMeteringClassFailMeterPointer?

This read-write object specifies the index into the Metering Class table for the meter to use when traffic is out-of-profile relative to the current meter, used only in Diffserv mode and ignored if the current meter is set to always-conform. An admin sets this to chain a fallback, typically stricter, meter for traffic exceeding the primary meter's rate. For example, an admin wanting excess Diffserv traffic beyond the committed rate to be evaluated against a stricter secondary meter would point this field at that fallback metering class.

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.59.4.2.1.8.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCOSB-POLICY-MIB::rlPolicyMeteringClassFailMeterPointer.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.59.4.2.1.8.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> rlPolicyMeteringClassFailMeterPointer.1
