rlPolicyFlowClassificationOffsetsGroupScheme
Module: CISCOSB-POLICY-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-POLICY-MIB::rlPolicyFlowClassificationOffsetsGroupScheme
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.59.2.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: Some platforms allow Policy statements to examine all packet offsets(Opal); other platforms require specification of specific byte offsets for routedIp packets, another set of offsets for routedIpx, a third set for bridge.
What is rlPolicyFlowClassificationOffsetsGroupScheme?
This read-only object indicates which offset-specification scheme the platform uses for classifying traffic: either allowing Policy statements to examine any packet offset freely, or requiring separate predefined Flow Classification Offset Groups (FCOGs) for routed IP, routed IPX, and bridged traffic respectively. An admin needs to know this scheme before configuring classifiers, since it determines whether they can specify arbitrary byte offsets or must work within platform-defined offset groups per traffic type. For example, an admin configuring a custom Layer 2 match rule on a platform reporting singleFlowClassificationOffsetGroupsForIpIpxBridge would first need to define an FCOG for bridged traffic rather than specifying an arbitrary offset directly.
