Module: CISCOSB-DEVICEPARAMS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-DEVICEPARAMS-MIB::rndCommunityTrapDestPort

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.2.7.2.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description: The transport protocol (usually UDP) port to which traps to the management station represebted by this entry will be sent. The default is the well-known IANA assigned port number for SNMP traps. This object is relevant only if rndCommunityTrapsEnable has a value different from trapsDisable.

What is rndCommunityTrapDestPort?

This read-create INTEGER (0 to 65535) specifies the UDP port to which traps for this community entry's management station are sent, defaulting to the IANA-assigned SNMP trap port, and it is only meaningful when rndCommunityTrapsEnable is not set to trapsDisable. An admin adjusts this when the NMS listens for traps on a non-standard port rather than the default. For example, if a trap receiver is configured to listen on UDP port 1620 instead of 162, the admin sets this object to 1620 so traps actually reach that listener.
