czseOperationMode

Module: CISCO-ZS-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-ZS-EXT-MIB::czseOperationMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.427.1.1.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object when set to 'basic(1)', results in the zone server operating in the basic mode as defined by FC-GS4 standards.

This object when set to 'enhanced(2)', results in the zone server operating in the enhanced mode as defined by FC-GS4 standards.

The local zone server can move to the enhanced mode of operation only if all devices in the Fibre Channel fabric are capable of working in enhanced mode. Otherwise, the set operation trying to set this object to 'enhanced(2)' will fail.

What is czseOperationMode?

This read-write INTEGER selects whether the local Zone Server operates in basic(1) mode, per FC-GS4 standards, or enhanced(2) mode, also per FC-GS4, on a given VSAN, with the move to enhanced mode possible only if all devices in the fabric support it. Admins care because enhanced mode typically offers stronger consistency and locking semantics for zoning changes across a fabric. For example, an admin wanting fabric-wide zoning change protection would set this object to enhanced(2), but only after confirming all fabric switches support it.
