cwpanIfRplTableMajorThreshNodes
Module: CISCO-WPAN-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-WPAN-MIB::cwpanIfRplTableMajorThreshNodes
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.819.1.1.1.1.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-write
Description: This object specifies the major node threshold for the WPAN RPL table.
When the value of the corresponding instance of cwpanIfRplTableNodes is greater than this value, a cwpanRisingIfRplTblMajorThreshNodesNotif notification will be generated.
After a cwpanRisingIfRplTblMajorThreshNodesNotif is generated, another such notification will not be generated if the value of the corresponding instance of cwpanIfRplTableNodes stays above this value.
When the value of the corresponding instance of cwpanIfRplTableNodes becomes less than or equal to this value after a cwpanRisingIfRplTblMajorThreshNodesNotif notification is generated, a cwpanFallingIfRplTblMajorThreshNodesNotif notification will be generated.
After a cwpanFallingIfRplTblMajorThreshNodesNotif is generated, another such notification will not be generated if the value of the corresponding instance of cwpanIfRplTableNodes does not exceed this value.
What is cwpanIfRplTableMajorThreshNodes?
This read-write object sets the major node-count threshold for the WPAN RPL table on this interface: whenever cwpanIfRplTableNodes exceeds this value, the device generates a cwpanRisingIfRplTblMajorThreshNodesNotif notification. An admin sets this to be alerted when the mesh network grows large enough to represent a scaling concern, such as approaching a hardware or protocol capacity limit. For example, an admin managing a growing IoT mesh deployment would set cwpanIfRplTableMajorThreshNodes just below the platform's known node-capacity ceiling so they get proactive warning before hitting that limit.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.819.1.1.1.1.5 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-WPAN-MIB::cwpanIfRplTableMajorThreshNodes
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.819.1.1.1.1.5.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-WPAN-MIB::cwpanIfRplTableMajorThreshNodes.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.819.1.1.1.1.5.1 i <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cwpanIfRplTableMajorThreshNodes.1
