This read-only object reports the current connectivity state of the subscriber unit, such as not ready, not synchronized, or PHY synchronized, as defined by the RF Interface Specification. Admins use this state machine value to understand exactly where in the connection process an SU currently stands. For example, an SU stuck at notSynchronized instead of progressing to phySynchronized would tell an admin the device isn't yet locking onto the downstream signal at all.
