t38LsDataRedundancy

Module: CISCO-WAN-T38-FAXRELAY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-T38-FAXRELAY-MIB::t38LsDataRedundancy

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.150.19.1.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This object determines the extent of the internet fax protocol(IFP) packet transmission redundancy for the low-speed control information exchanged during the first phase of a T.38 fax relay connection.

Depending on whether forward error correction(FEC) is enabled via the t38ErrorCorrection object, t38LsDataRedundancy has different meaning.

If FEC is disabled, then t38LsDataRedundancy is the maximum number of prior IFP packets within an unnumbered datagram protocol transport layer (UDPTL) packet carrying low speed information, not counting the primary or current IFP packet.

If FEC is enabled, then t38LsDataRedundancy is the maximum number of FEC messages within a UDPTL packet carrying low speed information.

What is t38LsDataRedundancy?

This read-write Integer32 (0-2147483647) determines, for the low-speed control phase of a T.38 fax relay connection, how much redundant retransmission of IFP packets occurs; its exact meaning changes depending on whether forward error correction is enabled via t38ErrCorrection. An admin raises this value to make the initial low-speed handshake of a fax call more resilient to packet loss on the IP path. For example, on a link with FEC disabled, increasing t38LsDataRedundancy raises the maximum number of prior low-speed IFP packets repeated in each new packet, improving the odds the far end eventually receives the control information.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.150.19.1.1.1.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-WAN-T38-FAXRELAY-MIB::t38LsDataRedundancy

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.150.19.1.1.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-WAN-T38-FAXRELAY-MIB::t38LsDataRedundancy.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.150.19.1.1.1.1.5.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> t38LsDataRedundancy.1
