cwnHoldTime
Module: CISCO-WAN-NCDP-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-NCDP-MIB::cwnHoldTime
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.223.1.1.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: The minimum delay between the transmission of two consecutive NCDP configuration PDUs on an interface.
The value of this object should normally be set to match the value of cwnMessageInterval. If the value of this object is higher than the value of cwnMessageInterval, NCDP configuration PDUs will end up being propagated at the rate specified by the value of this object instead.
This object is only used if the distribution method is 'ncdp'.
What is cwnHoldTime?
This read-write Integer32, in milliseconds and ranging 75 to 60000, sets the minimum delay between transmission of two consecutive NCDP configuration PDUs on an interface, and per the description should normally match cwnMessageInterval, since a higher hold time value than the message interval causes Hello PDUs to actually propagate at the rate this object specifies instead. An admin generally leaves this equal to cwnMessageInterval to avoid unintentionally slowing down Hello propagation below the configured message interval. Setting this higher than cwnMessageInterval without realizing it would silently throttle how often Hello PDUs actually go out on that interface, even though cwnMessageInterval suggests a faster rate.
