cwnAtmInterfaceAdminWeight

Module: CISCO-WAN-NCDP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-NCDP-MIB::cwnAtmInterfaceAdminWeight

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.223.1.5.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: A weight metric used by the NCDP protocol entity and associated with a physical interface that supports synchronous clock recovery. When NCDP is enabled for the physical interface the value of this object is used by NCDP algorithms during tree computations.

The lower the administrative weight, the more attractive the given link is to the NCDP algorithm. If the weight of a link is changed, it can cause the NCDP protocol entity to reconstruct the clock distribution tree.

What is cwnAtmInterfaceAdminWeight?

This read-write Integer32, ranging 1 to 16777215, sets a weight metric NCDP uses during clock distribution tree computations on this synchronous-clock-recovery-capable interface, where a lower weight makes the link more attractive to the algorithm (per the truncated description, tied weights are then broken by other criteria). An admin lowers this weight on interfaces they want NCDP to prefer as clock-carrying paths, and raises it on links they'd rather NCDP avoid using for clock propagation. Setting a high admin weight on a low-bandwidth backup link would steer NCDP toward using a more capable primary link for clock distribution instead.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.223.1.5.1.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-WAN-NCDP-MIB::cwnAtmInterfaceAdminWeight

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.223.1.5.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-WAN-NCDP-MIB::cwnAtmInterfaceAdminWeight.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.223.1.5.1.1.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cwnAtmInterfaceAdminWeight.1
