Module: CISCO-WAN-ATM-CONN-STAT-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-ATM-CONN-STAT-MIB::cwacsHighEgrCLP1CoSDiscard

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.150.2.1.1.1.1.65

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: The number of valid CLP=1 cells in the egress direction of this Channel that are discarded at the CoS queue due to overflow. This counter carries upper 32-bits of cwacsHCEgrCLP1CoSDiscard. The lower 32-bits will be present in cwacsEgrCLP1CoSDiscard.

What is cwacsHighEgrCLP1CoSDiscard?

This is the upper 32 bits of the 64-bit count of low-priority (CLP=1) egress cells on this channel discarded because the class-of-service queue overflowed. Because CLP=1 cells are the intended candidates for discard under congestion, a rising value here (with the low-order cwacsEgrCLP1CoSDiscard or the combined cwacsHCEgrCLP1CoSDiscard) is the expected, healthy sign the queue is shedding best-effort load rather than priority traffic. An admin monitoring an oversubscribed trunk would expect this counter to increase during busy periods as normal congestion control, in contrast to the CLP0 discard counter which should stay near zero.
