Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-create

Description:

This object serves to associate an endpoint with a specific controller. Usually resource partitioning makes the association between a controller and a range of vpi-vci. There could be switches where hard partitioning of vpi-vci may not be implemented, in which case this object serves to tie a specific vpi-vci to a controller. This object can not be modified after the row is created.

What is cwaChanControllerId?

This object associates an ATM virtual circuit endpoint with a specific controller that manages the connection's routing and resource allocation. In ATM switches with resource partitioning, controllers typically manage ranges of VPI/VCI pairs, but this object can explicitly tie a specific VPI/VCI to a controller when hard partitioning is not implemented. A network operator would set this when provisioning a switched permanent virtual circuit (SPVC) to ensure the connection uses the intended controller.
