Description: The maximum number of bridge hops allowed in Spanning Tree Explorer frames on this VLAN. This object is only instantiated when the value of the corresponding instance of vtpVlanType has a value of fddi(2) or tokenRing(3) and Source Routing is in use on this VLAN.
What is vtpVlanSteHopCount?
This read-only Integer32 object reports the maximum number of bridge hops permitted for Spanning Tree Explorer (STE) frames on a Source-Routed FDDI or Token Ring VLAN. An administrator managing legacy source-routed VLANs checks this to understand how far STE frames are allowed to propagate through the bridged topology. For example, on a VLAN spanning many source-route bridges, an STE frame exceeding vtpVlanSteHopCount hops would be discarded rather than continuing to explore further.
