Description:
The maximum number of bridge hops allowed in Spanning Tree Explorer frames on this VLAN. This object is only instantiated when the value of the corresponding instance of vtpVlanType has a value of fddi(2) or tokenRing(3) and Source Routing is in use on this VLAN.
What is vtpVlanEditSteHopCount?
This OID holds a true/false value that sets the maximum number of bridge hops allowed in Spanning Tree frames on a VLAN (older networking feature). It limits how far certain network explorer packets can travel. An administrator would use this on FDDI or Token Ring networks to prevent explorer packets from flooding the entire network.
