What is vtpInAdvertRequests?
This read-only Counter32 object counts the total number of VTP Advertisement Request messages this device has received for a given management domain. An administrator monitors this to see how actively other switches in the domain are requesting VTP summary information, which can spike when new switches join or after a domain-wide reset. For example, a sudden burst in vtpInAdvertRequests could indicate a newly added switch is aggressively requesting VLAN database information as it joins the domain.
