vlanTrunkPortsDot1qTag
Module: CISCO-VTP-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-VTP-MIB::vlanTrunkPortsDot1qTag
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.46.1.6.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-write
Description: An indication of whether the tagging on all VLANs including native VLAN for all 802.1q trunks is enabled.
If this object has a value of true(1) then all VLANs including native VLAN are tagged. If the value is false(2) then all VLANs excluding native VLAN are tagged.
This object has been deprecated and is replaced by the object 'cltcDot1qAllTaggedEnabled' in the CISCO-L2-TUNNEL-CONFIG-MIB
What is vlanTrunkPortsDot1qTag?
This read-write TruthValue object, now deprecated in favor of cltcDot1qAllTaggedEnabled in CISCO-L2-TUNNEL-CONFIG-MIB, controls whether the native VLAN is also tagged on all 802.1Q trunks device-wide, with true meaning even native VLAN traffic gets tagged and false leaving native VLAN traffic untagged as usual. An administrator concerned about native VLAN spoofing attacks might have used this to force tagging on all VLANs including the native one, though new configurations should use its replacement object instead. For example, setting this to true previously ensured that even the native VLAN's frames carried an 802.1Q tag across every trunk, closing a common VLAN hopping attack vector.
