Description: Indicates dot1qtunnel mode of the port.

If the portDot1qTunnel is set to 'trunk' mode, the port's vlanTrunkPortDynamicState will be changed to 'onNoNegotiate' and the vlanTrunkPortEncapsulationType will be set to 'dot1Q'. These values cannot be changed unless dot1q tunnel is disabled on this port.

If the portDot1qTunnel mode is set to 'access' mode, the port's vlanTrunkPortDynamicState will be set to 'off'.And the value of vlanTrunkPortDynamicState cannot be changed unless dot1q tunnel is disabled on this port. 1Q packets received on this access port will remain.

Setting the port to dot1q tunnel 'disabled' mode causes the dot1q tunnel feature to be disabled on this port. This object can't be set to 'trunk' or 'access' mode, when vlanTrunkPortsDot1qTag object is set to 'false'.

This object has been deprecated and is replaced by the object 'cltcDot1qTunnelMode' in the CISCO-L2-TUNNEL-CONFIG-MIB

What is vlanTrunkPortDot1qTunnel?

This read-create INTEGER configures a port's 802.1Q tunneling mode as trunk, access, or disabled, and selecting trunk mode automatically forces the port's dynamic trunking state to onNoNegotiate and its encapsulation to dot1Q, locking those settings until tunneling is disabled again; selecting access mode instead forces the dynamic state to off. An administrator uses dot1q tunneling to carry a customer's tagged VLAN traffic transparently through a service provider network as if it were a single VLAN. For example, setting vlanTrunkPortDot1qTunnel to trunk on a provider-edge port configures it to tunnel all the customer's tagged VLANs and simultaneously overrides that port's trunking negotiation and encapsulation settings to support the tunnel.
