Description: This object specifies whether or not Dtmf Relay is enabled. If it is then dtmf digits are transported as FRF11 Annex C packets, instead of being encoded as speech.
What is cvAtmPeerCfgDtmfRelay?
This is a read-write true/false setting that turns DTMF relay on or off for this ATM voice peer, and when enabled it causes touch-tone digits to be carried as FRF11 Annex C packets rather than being encoded together with ordinary speech. An admin enables this to prevent low-bitrate voice codecs from distorting DTMF tones, which is critical for callers navigating voicemail systems or IVR menus through the gateway. For example, an admin troubleshooting failed IVR menu selections on ATM trunk calls would check that this object is set to true.
