What is cvsVSLTxProtoPkts?
This counts protocol-control packets transmitted over the VSL for features such as In Service Software Upgrade, or ISSU. An admin cares because a rise in this counter during a planned maintenance window is expected evidence that an ISSU-related operation is exchanging control traffic over the VSL as intended. For example, during a software upgrade performed via ISSU, this counter would be expected to increase as the two chassis coordinate the upgrade over the VSL.
