An admin cares because in a virtual switch pair, comparing uptime between the two chassis quickly reveals which one rebooted more recently, useful after an unexpected reset. For example, one chassis showing a much lower uptime than its virtual switch peer would indicate that chassis recently reloaded, worth investigating for a crash or manual reset.
