Module: CISCO-UNIFIED-FIREWALL-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-UNIFIED-FIREWALL-MIB::cufwConnGlobalNumSetupsAborted
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.491.1.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Counter64
Access: read-only
Description: The number of connection setup attempts that were aborted before the connection could proceed to completion. The counter includes setup attempts aborted by the firewall as well as those aborted by the initiator and/or the responder(s) of/to the connection setup attempt.
Consequently, this value subsumes the values of objects 'cufwConnGlobalNumPolicyDeclined' and 'cufwConnGlobalNumResDeclined'.
This value is accumulated from the last reboot of the firewall.
What is cufwConnGlobalNumSetupsAborted?
This is a 64-bit counter of connection setup attempts, across all protocols, that were aborted before reaching the established state, whether the abort was initiated by the firewall, the connection initiator, or the responder. Because this total subsumes both cufwConnGlobalNumPolicyDeclined and cufwConnGlobalNumResDeclined, an admin can use it as a first-pass health check before breaking the aborts down into policy-based versus resource-based causes. For example, a rising value here alongside a flat cufwConnGlobalNumPolicyDeclined would point an admin toward resource exhaustion, not access-list denials, as the reason connections keep failing to establish.
