Description: The number of active connections which correspond to remote access applications. Specifically, the protocol for which the connection is established must be one of PPP, PPTP, L2TP or remote access IPsec (IPsec connections employing extended authentication).

This value is accumulated from the last reboot of the firewall.

What is cufwConnGlobalNumRemoteAccess?

This gauge, accumulated since the last reboot, reports the number of active connections that correspond specifically to remote-access applications -- PPP, PPTP, L2TP, or remote-access IPsec connections using extended authentication. An admin monitoring VPN capacity uses this to see current remote-access session load distinct from general firewall traffic. For example, this value climbing toward a known remote-access license or capacity limit would tell the admin they need to plan for additional VPN capacity.
