This is a 64-bit counter, accumulated since the last reboot, of connections that were active but have since been terminated normally. An admin uses this alongside cufwConnGlobalNumAborted to distinguish the healthy churn of connections closing normally from connections being forcibly torn down. For example, a high expired count with a low aborted count over the same period would tell the admin that traffic is completing normally rather than being disrupted by policy or resource limits.
