Description: The number of connections attempted since the last reboot of the firewall, corresponding to the protocol denoted by 'cufwAppConnProtocol'.

This value is accumulated from the last reboot of the firewall subject to the control exercised by cufwConnReptAppStats.

What is cufwAppConnNumAttempted?

This is a 64-bit counter, accumulated since the last reboot, of connection attempts for the specific application-layer protocol denoted by cufwAppConnProtocol, and its accumulation is subject to the control exercised by cufwConnReptAppStats. An admin uses this to see application-protocol-level connection volume, such as for HTTP or FTP specifically, but only when application statistics reporting has been enabled via cufwConnReptAppStats. For example, an admin investigating unusual FTP activity would check this counter for the FTP application-protocol row, after first confirming cufwConnReptAppStats is set to true so the data is actually being collected.
