ciscoTsStackSwitchPorts
Module: CISCO-TS-STACK-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-TS-STACK-MIB::ciscoTsStackSwitchPorts
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.32.2.1.1.14
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: OCTET STRING
Access: read-only
Description: A bit mask representing all the ports present in this switch. Each octet within the value of this object specifies a set of eight ports, with the first octet specifying ports 1 through 8, the second octet specifying ports 9 through 16, etc. Within each octet, the most significant bit represents the lowest numbered port, and the least significant bit represents the highest numbered port. Thus, each port of the switch is represented by a single bit within the value of this object. If that bit has a value of '1' then that port is included in the set of ports in this switch; the port is not included in this switch if its bit has a value of '0'.
What is ciscoTsStackSwitchPorts?
This read-only OCTET STRING (4 bytes, 32 bits) is a bitmask enumerating every physical port present on this switch, with each bit position corresponding to one port number as described, octet 1 covers ports 1-8, and so on. Software polling this object can determine the switch's actual port count and layout without needing separate model-lookup logic, which matters because Catalyst Token Ring switches shipped in different port-density configurations. A 24-port switch would show the first three octets fully set and the fourth octet clear.
