ciscoTsPortCfgPortMode
Module: CISCO-TS-STACK-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-TS-STACK-MIB::ciscoTsPortCfgPortMode
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.32.4.1.1.17
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Port operation mode. Only the HDX and FDX modes can be auto detected. Note, that passive-probe(7) mode can not be set with this object. The passive-probe(7) mode is set automatically when a passive probe is defined in the ciscoTsPassiveProbeTable. Note also that ri-ro(6) is only valid for ports 19, 20 (Catalyst 3900), and ports on a fiber module.
What is ciscoTsPortCfgPortMode?
This read-write enum sets this port's link operation mode among options like auto(1), half/full-duplex port or station variants, ri-ro(6) for ring-in/ring-out backbone connections, or passive-probe(7); the description notes only HDX/FDX modes auto-detect, passive-probe(7) can't be set directly here, and ri-ro(6) is restricted to specific ports on a Catalyst 3900 or fiber modules. An admin connecting this port to another switch as a ring backbone link would need ri-ro(6) specifically, and only if the port is one of the eligible ones. Attempting to set ri-ro(6) on an ineligible port would be rejected by the agent.
