stpxLoopInconsistencyUpdate

Module: CISCO-STP-EXTENSIONS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-STP-EXTENSIONS-MIB::stpxLoopInconsistencyUpdate

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.82.2.0.3

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: A stpxLoopInconsistencyUpdate notification is sent by a bridge when an instance of stpxLoopInconsistencyState is created or destroyed. That is, when an loop-inconsistency is discovered in the VLAN's or instance's Spanning Tree for a particular port, or when such an loop-inconsistency disappears. For creation, the value of stpxLoopInconsistencyState in the notification is true(1); for deletion, the value is false(2).

The object value of stpxSpanningTreeType indicates which Spanning Tree protocol is running when an instance of stpxLoopInconsistencyState is created or destroyed.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' CISCO-STP-EXTENSIONS-MIB::stpxLoopInconsistencyUpdate
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.82.2.0.3

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:58057->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (383864009) 44 days, 10:17:20.09
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: CISCO-STP-EXTENSIONS-MIB::stpxLoopInconsistencyUpdate
