srpNodesOnTheRing

Module: CISCO-SRP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-SRP-MIB::srpNodesOnTheRing

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.60.1.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: The number of nodes in the SRP ring. When interface is down the value is 0.

What is srpNodesOnTheRing?

This object is the count of nodes currently participating in this SRP ring, reported as 0 when the interface is down. This is the live topology-size indicator for the ring: a sudden drop in node count, without this interface itself going down, means one or more other nodes on the ring have dropped off, which on a ring topology can also mean the ring has split or a break has occurred elsewhere. srpNodesOnTheRing dropping from 8 to 5 while this interface remains up indicates three other nodes elsewhere on the ring have become unreachable, likely due to a fiber cut or node failure at another point on the ring.
